Blog 4- Mrs Ivy-Xiao Xiao(Merina)-Differences between generations
There are many
differences between generations, and today I want to talk about the two biggest
differences between my parents and I. The first is that our appreciation levels
are disparate. To illustrate it, I like some popular singers such as Wang Lihong,
Chen Yixun and so on. But my parents like singers who were famous when my
parents were very young, such as Deng Lijun, Li Guyi. Sometimes the singers
whom I like use a modern way to sing the songs which belong to the singers whom
my parents like, and then my parents will feel very bad, because they think
that the singers whom I like have violated the classical songs, but I did not
think so; I think the singers do well, because they make the songs more
fashionable. The second difference is our attitudes towards money. My parents
will try their best to save money and put it in the bank, because they feel
safe if they have some money in their bank book, and they think they should
save as much money as they can in case of some emergencies. But I do not agree with
them, I never be determined to save as much money as I can, I just do regular
consumption, and I do not waste money, but I never make myself wronged just for
saving money, I will buy what I want if I can afford it. I think this is
enjoying life while my parents think that this is a reasonless lifestyle. To
conclude, different generations really have a lot of differences.

I think what you were trying to say is your parents are more thrifty than you?
ReplyDeleteOne day I was surprised at my trying to understand those old singers' styles and found that they are actually not so bad... I guess, that may because i am growing up and have more profound values. but when I get the conclusion that i have grown up and just like our parents, i am somehow a lil sad.
