     For me, the world would be a better place if there were no inappropriate use of science and technology. If atomic physics had been not applied to military, nuclear weapons, which can lead to unimaginable damages, would not have come into being. Had chemistry not been improperly applied to agriculture, the poisonous DDT would not have accumulated in organisms through biomagnification. Without overuse of the penicillin, we human-beings would not have been threatened by superbugs. However, science and technology do not have original sin, because these bad effects were resulted from the improper use of science and technology rather than science and technology themselves. It goes without saying that the original purpose of advancing science and technology is to better people's life. Therefore, everyone should take the responsibility to avoid inappropriate use of science and technology and contribute to a much better world.
