Blog4-"Ms Ivy"-"zhangchenwei"-"differences between generations"

Our generation, certainly, has quite a different taste from the last generation. Our parents love talking with people most. They will go outside to talk with friends first instead of washing dishes after dinner. They will even talk in neighbors‘ house for a whole day rather than watch TV at home. They lived in an age when emotional connection is valued and enjoyed so that they get strength and support from each other.
However, we teenagers share totally different habits. We are the generation who loves to stay at home most of the time to be a “zhai nan "or "zhai nv” (means Otaku and Female Otaku); we play computer games, read books or watch movies. We are also the generation who loves showing our differences and to be out of control; we dress up strangely, express ourselves freely, and do things madly as we like. When we move, nobody can predict what our next step is; and when we rest, nobody knows when we will get up.  Compared to our parents, we are more individual and unrestrained. Though maybe sometimes we will feel lonely, and admire our parents’ lives which are simple and closely connected, we also take pride in and enjoy ourselves’ lives which are full of variety and freedom.

  1. "Zhai" is one of the new characters that our generation has and I agree with you on that. What's more, I like your parallel structure and I also think that you can pay more attention to your grammar. :)

  2. Some interesting differences but be careful in overgeneralising.

  3. I agree with you that our generation is more individual and unrestrained. This phenomenon may be good for innovation.
