I read about a real love story one year ago, which happened between an American professor and a Chinese student. The professor had developed a interest in Chinese classic literature, especially poems since his childhood. He devoted much of his lifetime to studying Chinese culture and became a professor in department of Chinese in Harvard University. a female Chinese student from Peking University went to Harvard as an exchange student.
The professor was impressed by her talent and personality. He wrote her a letter, asking whether she prefer a passionate love like fire, such as that between Romio and Juliet, or a peaceful soft love like water, such as that between Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. Then the girl replied that she wouldn't seek for any kind of love deliberately, and all she want was the one coming naturally, arranged by destiny. The professor seemed to hear the echo of his own heart. He knew from then on that she was the right one for him.
Two years later, the Chinese student married the professor in America, despite he was tens of years older than her.
I could always feel a warm feeling running through my heart whenever I recall the story. It shows me love knows no boundaries. True love comes regardless of age, race, nation, or geography
The story reallt touches me. I think "True love comes regardless of age, race, nation, or geography "too.Thank you for your sharing.
ReplyDeleteBut I think "despite he was tens of years older than her" should be more accurate

DeleteIt is really a romantic story. The true love needs determination and consistency of two reliant hearts.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also believe the two lovers in this story can made up a family full of happiness because of their courage of facing obstacles.
So romantic! I could not accept the lovers which have great difference in age. The age difference would by all means cause to rift the viewpoint different, may even exist generation gap.
ReplyDeleteI think it is the time to change my view mow. Wish them happy forever.
