The character I appreciate most

    Different people have different characters on which their destinies would depend inevitably. Good characters can lead people to a good mood and make them succeed easier. Among all the nice characters, what I appreciate most is optimism, because if one person has an optimistic attitude, he would no longer be afraid of making mistakes, and all the difficulties he faces would become the catalytic agent that makes his dreams achieved sooner. 

Churchill is a good instance. As an emblem of the British empire during World War II, Churchill was demoted from the admiralty in 1915 and given a minor cabinet post because of the ill fated Dardanelles campaign. During this greatest reverse in his political career, Churchill was filled with despair. Such a setback filled him with grief but did not discourage him. He faced every misfortune with a smile and an optimistic attitude. Moreover, all the adversity he faced made him stronger, and after facing the Nazi's attack, he came back with an inspiring speech, "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat." Because of his optimism, Churchill overcame all the adversity and finally became a legend of Britain.

Another example is Microsoft Corporation. After it successfully defeated the temporary leader of the industry software, IBM, by selling his own operating system, MSDOS, they developed another system which was not well received as the price of it at that time was too high for a family to afford. The development of this system was a complete failure, and another company, Apple, dominated the sofware market. But Microsoft was not upset; they considered it a lesson and develop another desktop operating system for commercial use which is known as the most successful graphic system in history--Windows 3.0.  Failure is not frightening unless one treats it as a kind of disaster. Microsoft rose to its feet and eventually achieved great success because of its optimistic attitude whenever facing difficulties.

Here we see, an optimistic attitude can save a person from the shadow of darkness to a great achievement. I believe I am an optimistic person and always think things on their good sides. How about you?
