Born as post-90s, we are a digital generation, who carry electronic gadgets everywhere we go. Notebook, iphone, ipad, etc, many of us couldn't go on a single day without them. On the street, or in the subway train or on the bus, you can always see teenagers glued to their handphones or other gadgets and never seem to lose interest.
On the contrary, our parents, the elder generation are not so dependent on digital products. Take my parents as example, my father prefers reading newspapers in his free time and my mother enjoys cooking and shopping. None of these activities has much to do with electronic products.
Of course they watch TV and listen to radio, which are now considered the elder generation of electronic product. But TVs and radios seem to have less and less attraction to us, for they are traditional appliances just like fridges but our taste is for the modern ones.
The elder generation also use computers and cellphones, but mostly for work and daily communication with family and friends, while we use them a great part for entertainment such as watching movies and videos, listening to music; and social network, such as chatting on Facebook and QQ.
In a word, digital products have occupied a big part of our lives. Living in the digital world is one of the most different experiences in life we have from our parents.
I totally agree with you. We are the generation that was brought up under the influence of the Internet and have been immersed into the media. As you said, we carry electronic gadgets everywhere we go and cannot leave them. By contrast, our parents are more used to reading newspapers, cooking and shopping. I think we should respect both of these lifestyles, because they are the symbols of moving forward of the times.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are too many differences between the two generation. Because we and our parents were born in different age, the different attitude towords life cannot be avoided, just as you said. I agree with you totally. i think it is fun to hear the story about our parents' childhood.
ReplyDeleteI cannot agree with you more. Our generation are quite influenced by the digital products and Internet.
ReplyDeleteBut I think maybe we rely on these things too deeply, which will do harm to our health and daily life.
