Different generations have different preferences and tastes; they are viewed as one of the icons standing for a generation. Easily, I can find out a lot of differences between generations of my parents’ and mine, i.e. the sense of value, the preferences towards the media, the tastes on food.
Everytime I throw leftovers I do not like in the dustbin, my mother will blame me for wasting food, and remind me the time when numerous people, of her generation, starved to death.
Another interesting thing I want to note is that every Friday after supper, when I was in high school, I would surf on the Internet till deep night, while my parents always preferred watching TV, and burst into laughter from time to time.
At most cases, when I go shopping with my friends, we would choose to eat at McDonald's or KFC. However, when in company with my mother, I never dared to do so, for she thought the food of this kind is extremely unhealthy.
Some people call our generation “Strawberry generation”, which means that we are more delicate when in the face of stress or depression. But I beg to differ. It is just the difference between lifestyles. Definitely, we are experiencing the pressure my parents’ generation never faced, and vice versa. So we need a bridge connecting the two different generations, and personally, I believe an appropriate amount of communication can play such an important role.
