FengShui

FengShui is a new and interesting idea to many westerns, although Chinese people have been following it for thousands of years. Now FengShui is more and more popular all over the world. However, it is still the controversial topic whether FengShui is a superstition or science. In my opinion, FengShui theory is not only China ancient thoughts, but also the guiding ideology of the traditional building and modern city construction in China for over one thousand years. A better way to describe FengShui might be to say it is about aligning one’s surroundings in orther to enchance natural energy flow which is called “Chi”. Although the contents have not been solved by scientific principles, it has guided the Chinese people’s daily life in reality. The cities and towns which follow the Chinese residential layout still assume the structure of FengShui, Yin and Yang, and the Five Elemental arrangement as Wuxing. One of my western friend said, when you are in a space where FengShui has been used to create balance-you will experience it in all levels of you soul’s awareness, then you will understand the chi definitely exist. I think it is a little overstatement, but it is a signal that the world has accepted Chinese traditional culture more and more.

  1. I also think that the world has accepted Chinese traditional culture more and more.
On the comtrary, some Chinese people, especially young people, think Chinese traditional culture is useless. I think we should change this situation and protect our own culture.

  2. I totally agree that fengshui theory is Chinese ancient thoughts and the guiding ideology of the traditional building. Even in mordern China, many young people still believe in fengshui and use it to make their lives luckier. I am proud of the worldwide acceptance of fengshui and would like to use some rules of fengshui to make my life luckier in the future.
