Born as new teenagers in the modern world,
we post-90s are quite different from our parents in many ways. And the major
difference between two generations is the attitude toward money.
When we were born, our parents have money,
more or less, for the whole family to eat, to buy new clothes and enough to
make a living. In other words, we teenagers never thought about what is the
life like if we could not afford to buy foods and clothes. But our parents were
born in the period when people were very poor. They thought about what they
could eat next meal and whether they could have enough clothes to keep warm in
winter. So they have worked hard to make money and they usually saved the money
in the bank instead of buying some useless things. They are always saving money
for us in case we are short of money one day because they know how hard that
kind of life is. They do not want us to suffer from it. But we post-90s do not
think of it and what we just want to do is to enjoy the life. Most of us have
not understood why our parents working so hard to make money. Sometimes we even
say our parents only care about the money and they do not know the true
meanings of life. And we call it generation gap and think that we are more
advanced and open-minded than our parents, without thinking the money we have
used to go shopping, buy things and used as daily expense is all come from the
effort of our parents. We buy iphone4 and a few days later we change it into
iphone4S, but our parents can use an old phone for several years. We go
everywhere using the taxi but our parents may squeeze on the buses or even walk
for half an hour to save money.
Our parents’ attitude toward money is to
save money for us and ours is to be happy and enjoy the life. I think the
difference is just because our parents love us very much. Let us respect the
difference, respect the love and do things that we can do to help our parents
enjoy their lives, too.
Glad you are appeciating the difficulties your parents went through. Edit your work. Some missing verbs and poor grammar.
ReplyDeleteSorry. I do not know poor grammar means it is wrong or not proper. How can I improve it? Thank you in advance.
