Since we arrived at Changi Airport in December last year, we have shared lots of time with our SM3 befrienders. Delightfully, the past two months have seen the friendship between befrienders and us growing increasingly deep. I still remember the time when they accompanied us to do the medical check-up, scrambled to translate hepatitis B into Chinese, and took the extra time to bring us to Funan. Moreover, they also organized quite a lot of funny or meaningful activities for us, such as the kite-making competition, the BBQ camp, the talent show, the Christmas celebration on the ship LOGOS HOPE, etc. Benefiting from these activities, we got to know more about each other and developed our friendship. Every time when I recall the precious memories, a warm feeling flows through all my parts.
However, the warmth does not stop there. A few days ago, when looking through my Facebook, I came across the page of the befrienders' Facebook group, where I was deeply touched by their generous love. From their posts, I learned that they had been preparing for our arrival since July last year, when we SM3 students had not been selected. What is more, before befriending us, the befrienders-to-be held weekly prayers particularly for us. They prayed that we could come to Singapore safely and have a good time here.
Indeed, they are spreading God's love to us. We are very grateful for the small acts of love that were demonstrated by them. Therefore, let's spread the love together and make the world filled with God's love!
Many people nowadays always think of erotic affairs when talking about love. They ignore that there are still friendships and the God's love, and they do not give.
ReplyDeleteHope the world will be full of God's love with the efforts of the majority.
I am glad you are making good friendships in Singapore with Singaporeans and experiencing the love of God through the love of people. As people are sincere and caring towards you, similarly, you should learn to show your care for others. Friendship is a two way affair. It takes two hands to clap. Hopefully, as you work on your friendships, they will last a life-time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your advice! I agree with you, and I am trying my best to care for them too.
